NEM’s Managing Director, Errol Ziadie officially retired from the post on June 30th 2006 after 5 years at the helm and his contribution to NEM and the insurance industry in general after over 40 years was honoured at a function at the Caymanas Golf Club on the 1st of June 2006 called the NEM Golf Day.

The event served as an opportunity for Mr. Ziadies friends, family and colleagues to hail his achievements during his long and successful career in the industry and also for Mr. Ziadie to display his prowess with a golf club.

Earl Jarrett, Managing Director of Jamaica National, the NEM board of Directors, and the executive and management of NEM were all on hand to pay tribute to the insurance stalwart. Others from the insurance fraternity who were in attendance were Richard Fontaine of Fraser Fontaine and Kong, Tommy Smith from CGM Brokers (formerly IIB) and many more well-wishers who were entertained by Dwight Richards and company and had their tastebuds delighted by Anna-kaye Ziadie who catered superbly.

Apart from the moving tribute by friend and colleague Tommy Smith, the beautifully crafted plaque presented to Mr. Ziadie from NEM, his witty repartee after being lauded with praise and admiration for the entire day and of course his rousing performance on the dance floor, the main highlight of the evening was a heartfelt rendition of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” by the JN Group HRD executive, Carl Bliss, which was dedicated to Mr. Ziadie.

Mr. Ziadie will continue to serve NEM on the board of directors and NEM wishes him all the happiness and comforts retirement should bring after an impeccable career and a job well done. Walk Good EZ.
